Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists (OTs) play a crucial role in home care settings, where their primary goal is to help individuals regain or improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and other essential tasks necessary for independent living.

Our OTs begin by conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate the client's physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental needs. This assessment helps identify the individual's strengths, limitations, and specific goals for therapy.

Developing Treatment Plans

Based on the assessment findings a personalized treatment plans is developed with the collaboration of the client and his family members. These plans are tailored to address the individual's unique challenges and focus on enhancing their independence and quality of life.

ADL Training

Our occupational therapists work with clients to improve their ability to perform ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating. They may use various techniques and adaptive equipment to facilitate independence in these tasks.

Home Safety Modifications

Our clinician assess the client's home environment to identify potential safety hazards and recommend modifications or assistive devices to enhance safety and accessibility. This may include installing grab bars, ramps, handrails, or adaptive equipment to facilitate mobility and independence.

Cognitive Rehabilitation

For clients with cognitive impairments, such as those resulting from stroke or traumatic brain injury,  our OTs  will provide cognitive rehabilitation interventions to improve memory, attention, problem-solving, and other cognitive skills necessary for daily functioning.

Recommendation of Assistive Devices

Our OT’s assess the need for assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, adaptive utensils, or communication aids.  Training is provided on how to use these devices effectively to maximize independence and participation in daily activities.

Education and Training

OTs educate our clients and their caregivers about their condition, treatment strategies, and techniques for managing daily activities independently.

Collaboration with a Multidisciplinary Team
